You don’t just play chords on a piano unless accompanying (singing or in a jazz/big band) and you can’t play by numbers. If you want to play an instrument, just learn to read god damn music.

Get some instruction from a live person paid or free, but where they can see and hear your progress. That is the only way that mistakes are going to be caught early before they become serious or discouraging problems. The use of web sites is a bonus, but not the way improve your skills and definitely not the way to begin..
Remember that you might be able to teach yourself how to fly an airplane, but if you make mistakes it could kill you and others. You might be able to teach yourself piano, but if you make mistakes, you may turn into a lousy piano player.
To learn some things you need a teacher.

If you want to learn how to play the piano then you will have to learn how to read music because you can paint a picture by numbers but you CAN'T PLAY A PIANO BY NUMBERS...

The best answer is to learn to read music. It’s not really that hard–just get a beginning piano book (the ones made for little kids are the easiest) and follow the directions.

do it as if you are singing

or buy a beginners piano book (the easiest piano pieces)
