    playing with “flat …
playing with “flat fingers” is incorrect because that means your hand would not be completely curved. If you don’t play on the tips of your fingers, then the top joint on your finger will collapse. This equals poor finger strength, poor technique, and the student will have a lot of trouble playing advanced pieces. Some people can play with these collapsed fingers, but most piano teachers will instruct their students to always play on their fingertips.
