What are good, beginner, pretty, piano solos?
Posted by admin
I need some new music, I'm just wondering what are some really pretty piano solos?
Like Bri said, Pachelbels Canon in D major is a pretty suitable piece.
also Beethoven's Fur Elise of course, and Moonlight sonata 1st Movement. perhaps some simple melodies from the Baroque era, such as a few preludes by Bach, Liszt' Liebestraum No. 3, Mozart's Alla Turca, some of Clementi's sonatines, Chopin preludes, Schumann's Traumerei.. that's just a few

The song Canon (Pachelbel) takes awhile to learn but is overall very simple and sounds great.

I believe Beethoven or Mozart (one of those very well-known composers) composed an arrangement for Twinkle Twinkle Little Star with a lot of variations and ornamentation. It starts out simple but gets more and more intricate. I would highly recommend it.

Not all of these are classical but some great ones are:
Summers at Newport by Gayle Kowalchyk ( it is part of New England Memories from the Alfred Recital Suite Series)
Melody Bober- Rhapsodies, (there are several) Moonlight Fantasy,
Clementi Sonatinas
Catherine Rollin- anything
Chopin Nocturne in E flat (this one is a litte harder than the others but soooooo beautiful.
Hope that helps!
