What would be an appropriate amount to pay for a child's weekly piano (beginner) lesson?

yes i agree the going rate is about $10 to $15 per half hour lesson :)

    $10 for 1/2 hr.

    It cost me $5 for 1/2 hr. back when I was a kid. Inflation adjustment.

    No more than $15 for a half hour lesson. You should be able to find them at a much lower price from a college student though. Check out your local college's music department. Some colleges have a program where their music education students give lessons.

    I took lessons about ten years ago and it was about $7 for a half hour.

    I have lessons in a private home that are $12 for a half hour lesson.
