Poll-How does having a real grand piano make a beginner learn piano faster than having an electric keyboard?

I was watching videos on youtube and I heard if someone has a electric keyboard they should buy themselves the real thing a grand piano because they will learn faster & keyboards are not the real sound of pianos.
Electric keyboards have a more tinny sound. Also, you have to apply more pressure on piano keys than on a keyboard, so often if someone learns to play on a keyboard, they will mess up on the piano because they are not used to having to press harder on the keys

Beginner piano player, should I learn sheet music?

I'm looking to start learning piano, but reading sheet music seems even more complicated than playing. Will it take longer to play my favorite songs without reading sheet music?
I've also heard of playing by ear; is that for more advanced pianists?
I have always dreamed of learning to play the piano and I think that what you are learning to do is wonderful. I would learn to play by sheet music, I think that you need to learn the notes, however, many people are talented and can learn to play by just listening to the notes and finding the keys.

How do you play piano sheet music? (please help a beginner)?

I really want to learn the piano, but we don’t have enough money for lessons (also why I only have a small keyboard we got for free) but that’s the best I can do. So, is there any good guide or something on how to play? I’m good at matching what I hear and can read notes, since I played violin for years, but the piano is so big and when I look at piano music I don’t understand it, and which note is where on the piano.

the first thing you need to do is locate the Middle C key, which is right in the middle of the piano.
after that, you just count up and down in order,
A B C D E F G A… and so on.
so the key after Middle C is D, and the one before is B.
after that, just learn to match the notes on the pages with the keys, and you’ll do great! if you need to, put masking tape with the letters written on it on each key, to remind you.

Question about a beginner piano/keyboard. Please?

Hello everyone!
I got an acoustic guitar as a Christmas present and I'm still a beginner. I've been listening and watching a lot of piano recently and I'm hooked. I really want to get into playing it. And I need some help!
I know that pianos can be pricey, so as a beginner, would you recommend a keyboard instead? And when I decide to, I could get an actual piano? And also, if I were to get a Keyboard, would it be much like a piano? Meaning sound, the way you play, etc.
Note, that I'm a complete beginner. The most I've ever done is mess around with my friend's old piano a long time ago. Also, does anyone have any suggestions of a good keyboard to buy? A good keyboard sounds exactly like a grand piano, or very close.
I have some old 2005 Yamaha Keyboard, which has about 200+ instrument settings. It can even play a woman screaming. I think Yamaha keyboards are the best.
Playing a keyboard isn't like playing a piano, because usually the keys are easier to press, giving the piano more of a thud to the notes.
I taught myself to play by ear, then I got a piano-teaching book, and taught myself that. As long as you have rhythm, patience, and a good ear, you'll be able to play splendidly in no time.

Beginner Piano/Guitar Music?

At school, for one of my Fine Arts classes, I have to get music to perform. I've barely ever touched a piano or guitar, let alone played the instruments. So what are some good pieces for a very beginner on one or both of these instruments? I am musically inclined, if that helps and I'm a very quick learner. I was thinking maybe trying Debussy's "La fille aux cheveux de lin", but want to keep my options open…
Try condensed, beginner arranged, famous, classical pieces for piano. It makes you seem advanced and amazingly good just because the name of the song is known well by classical artists. Try songs like Fur Elise, Moonlight Sonata, or Moon River. When you say you are playing that kind of music, it makes you seem like you know those songs, but you are doing a beginner condensed version which makes it easier for you. For guitar, try things like The House of the Rising Sun, or Amazing Grace and more spiritual songs.
Spiritual songs sound great on the guitar and are easy to learn.

I'm looking at something under $500. Is it possible to learn by yourself?
yes it is possible. but you must be very strict on yourself. learn proper positions for fingers, learn all basics as if you were have a teacher. get beginer books. if you have a friend that's really helpful for questions. Also the internet is your friend, learn what all the symbols mean and time signatures. it will take a while to learn efficiantly, but it's very possible.
if your aiming to go full blast piano player, you want a pretty darn good one. but since you're a beginner i really suggest any quality brand like a yamaha. you don't need all the fancy "technologic teachers" built in or anything. just maybe a metronome is good just get a simple keyboard with about a good 5-6 octaves on it. i was able to play on that for years.
when you get more serious, you'll want to get a bigger piano obviously to play more intricate peices.
